The Romanian tenor Gheorghe Vlad began his musical career in 2003 in the field of chamber music and developed a broad concert repertoire early on with works by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven and Rossini. From 2004 to 2009, he was a member of the choir of the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Bucharest and also part of the male quartet Artis-Voice, with whom he performed numerous concerts.

Parallel to his artistic activities, he studied singing in his home country. During his studies and immediately afterwards
he was engaged as a guest at the Bucharest State Opera. He made his operatic debut there in 2009 and returned in 2012 for an acclaimed bel canto double debut in which he sang two leading roles: Don Ramiro in Rossini's La Cenerentola and Nemorino in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore. The Rossini repertoire quickly became his artistic focus.

Gheorghe Vlad is a scholarship holder of the Bel Canto Academy in Bad Wildbad. As part of this international support program, he has taken part in numerous Rossini Festival productions. His roles have included Adelberto (Adelaide di Borgogna), Lindoro (L'Italiana in Algeri) and Comte Ory (Le comte Ory). The performance of Adelaide di Borgogna in 2014, in which he took on the role of Adelberto, was recorded live and released on CD by Naxos. He also took part in a production of Le comte Ory at the Klangvokal Musikfestival Dortmund.

He received formative artistic impulses through his many years of study with maestro Raul Gimenez, himself a pupil of bel canto legend Alfredo Kraus.
From 2013 to 2020, he was also regularly engaged as a guest soloist at the Hamburg Chamber Opera (Allee Theater), where he interpreted a large number of important roles - including Alfredo (La Traviata), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Lord Percy (Anna Bolena), Alberto (La Gazzetta), Roger (La Rondine), the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Selim (Adina) and most recently Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola). A special role in his repertoire is played by the contemporary opera The Scarlet Letter by Fredric Kroll, in which Gheorghe Vlad interpreted the main role at the world premiere at the Hamburg Chamber Opera.

Gheorghe Vlad has been a permanent member of the Hamburg State Opera Chorus since 2009. During this time, he has appeared in numerous major productions and has also been regularly engaged for solo roles on the main stage.

Gheorghe Vlad has been a reliable member of the chorus for many years, as well as a convincing soloist, thanks to his confident, agile voice and stylistic versatility - with musical sensitivity, professional stage presence and strong expressiveness.
