Samuel Chavira Flores

Samuel Chavira Flores is a violinist, electronic music producer, and founder of Tornasol66 and the Mix Mediterranean String Ensemble. Born in Mexico City, a native protected area.
He began studying violin at 20 and was accepted to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, where he studied violin and chamber music. He later earned two master’s degrees—one in Violin and another in Chamber Music—at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He also completed an Erasmus year at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UDK) under Professor Mo Yi.
In Rome, he founded the Mediterranean Quintet, a Baroque ensemble focused on music from Mexico and the Americas. He has lectured at institutions such as UNAM, exploring topics like the relationship between architecture and music.
Alongside Mary Rose Scanlon, he developed an electronic music project combining classical instruments with digital production. His performances have taken him across Mexico, Italy, Germany, Denmark, France, Ireland, and Kuwait, and he is a resident artist at Sanctuary Rome. He also leads workshops and masterclasses on electronic music and movement, including collaborations in Hamburg with Salut Delux, promoting accessible, creative approaches to digital music-making.
