Thomas Lempertz is a visual artist with strong roots in the world of dance. He was born in Pforzheim, Germany and made his stage debut during his studies at the John Cranko School, performing as a child prodigy in the musical "On Your Toes" with the Stuttgart Ballet.

After a successful career as a soloist in Stuttgart, Thomas Lempertz gave up dancing in 2003 and opened his own fashion studio and boutique in Stuttgart city centre. In 2011, Lempertz was nominated for the "New Faces Award Fashion" for his creations inspired by old fashion houses, contemporary haute couture and dance costumes. He has been working with internationally acclaimed choreographers to design costumes for ballet and dance performances since 2013.

In 2015, Lempertz returned to the stage to perform "Greyhounds", an energetic solo created especially for him by Marco Goecke as part of a project for former dancers at the Theaterhaus Stuttgart theatre.

From 2015 to 2017, Lempertz studied Intermedia Art at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, creating works with an emphasis on performance installations. He also teaches art and movement workshops at the Academy's Laboratory for Dance, Choreography and Movement and the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg.

Lempertz's most recent highlights include his first solo exhibition, "Liquid Skin", at Stuttgart’s Galerie Kernweine in 2019, the group exhibition "Inszenierung I Inspiration Tanz und Fotograpie" at the German Museum of Dance in Cologne in 2021 and the solo exhibition "Motion is Solution" in (2021) and group exhibition "What I Like" in (2022), both at the Galerie Stadt Sindelfingen.
