Two worlds. One stage. A surprise concert with Omer Meir Wellber, Martin Lingnau & Friends
Kiez meets classical music - the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra and the Schmidt theatres have cooked up something spectacular together. Under the motto "Frack off!", the new cooperation between the St. Pauli neighbourhood and classical music is being launched.

The first big coup is the premiere of "Peter and the Wolf of St. Pauli" in March 2026 at Schmidts Tivoli. Before musicians of the State Orchestra and Schmidt bring one of the most spectacular criminal cases in the history of the Hanseatic city to the stage with the new production of Prokofiev's classic - the wolf here is the neighbourhood murderer Werner ‘Mucki’ Pinzner, who terrified the local red-light district in the 1980s - there will already be a foretaste of this extraordinary collaboration this September: IM.PRO.LOG.
Omer Meir Wellber, designated General Music Director of the Staatsorchester, and Martin Lingnau, Artistic Director of the Schmidt theatres, improvise Lingnaus musical hits and more on accordion and piano together with musicians from the Staatsorchester. They will be joined by ‘hidden shakespeare’, the stars of improv theatre par excellence: the Hamburg-based group has been delighting audiences with this unique art form for over 30 years - spontaneous, quick-witted and relentlessly live.
